Facelift

The deep plane facelift is a facelift technique regarded today as one of the most effective facial rejuvenation operations. Unlike classic facelift operations, it repositions not only the skin but also the muscle-fascia layer beneath the face (SMAS) and the deep tissues that have descended with ageing, all together.

What is the basic principle?

With ageing:

  • The cheek fat pads descend.
  • The nasolabial folds deepen.
  • The jawline loses its definition.
  • Laxity develops in the area under the chin and the neck.

In the deep plane facelift, the connections between the skin and the deep facial tissues are released and these tissues are moved upwards as a single unit. In this way the tension is placed not on the skin but on the deep tissues.

Which areas does it correct?

  • Cheek sagging
  • Nasolabial folds
  • The "jowl" appearance along the jawline
  • Laxity under the chin and in the neck
  • Midface descent

Recovery process

  • There may be pronounced swelling for the first 2-3 weeks.
  • Most patients can return to social life within 2-4 weeks.
  • Most of the result emerges within a few months.
  • Complete softening of the tissues and the settling of a natural appearance may take 6-12 months.

Deep plane facelift + other procedures

It is frequently combined with the following procedures: Endoscopic brow lift · Endoscopic temporal lift · Neck lift · Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) · Fat injection.

Why Deep Plane

The core distinctions of the deep plane technique.

The tension is placed not on the skin but on the deep tissues; the face and neck are addressed together.

01

Tension on the deep tissue, not the skin

The connections between the skin and the deep facial tissues are released; the SMAS and the deep tissues are moved upwards as a single unit.

02

Face and neck together

It is considered a procedure that rejuvenates not only the face but the face and neck together. Where necessary it can be combined with a brow lift, temporal lift, neck lift, eyelid surgery or fat injection.
